Some information on the book cover and what the tree design and colors represent:-

Vistage is the world’s leading chief executive organization dedicated to the continuing education and development of CEOs, Business Owners and their KEY executives. Education is represented by the WOOD element which is depicted by the GREEN tree on the rolling green hill, and, the tree when supported by water will stay GREEN AND GROWING.

The background of blue sky and clouds indicates that ‘the sky is the limit’ for Vistage business. The BLUE frame gives prominence to the tree. BLUE representing the WATER element, supports and gives life to the tree for it to stay green and growing.

BLACK on the top and bottom of the cover represents ‘yin’ or static water whilst BLUE represents ‘yang’ or vibrant water, therefore, nourishing the tree with ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ water to change and grow.

Trends and Future Markets – Dr Pero Micic
Sime Darby Convention Centre

Dr. Pero Micic, keynote speaker at Vistage Summit on March 2008, was back recently in January to speak to CEOs on "TRENDS & FUTURE MARKETS". He prompted business leaders to think beyond the horizon on how to see, understand and profit more from the markets of the future by identifying signals of the next era with regards to future factors: trends, technologies and issues of the future.

Dr Micic's presentation went further with the "five future glasses" to analyze the impacts, recognize threats and opportunities and - most important - potential future markets for business. His presentation was supported with dozens of illustration in innovations in such fields as energy harvesting, machines as the better humans, age management and self enhancement and genetic analysis.

Here’s some feedback from participants at the talk:

Dr Pero
  • He made me realized the future management is methodological and practical. 5 Future Glasses is easily implemented.
  • It’s great how he has laid a foundation for us to look into the future. A systematic and logical approach.
  • A team to look into Trends and Future Markets affecting the business directly and ways to embrace and drive the trends ourselves. Useful tool - Eltville model.
  • Impressed with the Eltville Model to think about the future. Also the key areas to think about the business potential.
  • Very relevant topic for one of my businesses; have to reflect on future needs of the direct customers and change appropriately.
