Q2
2010 Vistage-MIER CEO Confidence Index
CEO confidence in 2Q2010 remains upbeat with five of the Index’s
six component indices settling higher. The only component index
that settled lower was expected profit growth, which slipped 4 points.
There remain potential downside risks to the recovery of the Malaysian
economy. There are concerns that sovereign liquidity and solvency
in the Eurozone periphery may turn into a potentially contagious
sovereign debt crisis and derail the still fragile global economic
recovery. Because of Malaysia’s strong dependence on exports, the
impact of that happening on the domestic economy would be from the
perspective of trade linkages.
Read on for more details of the report in:
http://www.vistage.com.my/downloads/2010-Q2-VISTAGE-MIER-CEO-Confidence-Index.pdf
Please feel free to forward the report to your business associates
who will find it meaningful and should they wish to participate
in the Index survey, do refer them to Vistage Malaysia. The Edge
published the results on Monday, 31 May 2010.

Wong, (Chairman, Vistage Malaysia), Dato’ Jennifer Low (Founder
& MD, Quill Group, event sponsor), Tan Teng Boo (guest
speaker) and Heah Kok Soon (senior Vistage Chair & moderator) |

The 18th Vistage CEO Tea Talk was sponsored by
Quill Automobile (sole distributor of Rolls Royce and authorized
dealer of BMW in Malaysia) and held in their posh showroom in Petaling
Jaya. The event attracted an overwhelming response of more than
180 people. All attendees were given “Thank you” gifts by the sponsors.
Speaker Mr. Tan Teng Boo, Managing Director of
Capital Dynamics Sdn Bhd said the next one to two years was crucial
as it would determine Malaysia’s future in the long run. Good reforms
through the New Economic Model and sound economic policies must
be implemented to ride through the challenging times.
On the economic outlook for the next six months,
Tan said the situation was not that bleak globally and locally.
He did not expect the world economy to experience a double dip.
While China would see a soft landing in its economy and growth in
the US might not be too robust, the state of Malaysia’s economy
should be healthy.
